LHM360 – Quarterly Update: January to March 2025
As we stepped into a new year, LHM360 continued to provide a warm and welcoming space to those who need it most. We remained committed to building trust and offering life-affirming opportunities through meaningful activity, intervention work, and shared community experiences. This quarter was a particularly busy time with lots of new faces coming through our doors.
January: A Busy and Tragic Start
January saw us providing 168 more hot meals than we did in January 2024, setting us off to a busy start. During this month, we were devastated to lose one of our longstanding volunteers, Jim McLaughlin.

His loss was deeply felt by everyone. On a brighter note, Wylie Bissett Accountants chose to make us their charity of the year and have big plans to raise not only money for us but our profile which we are extremely excited about. Page and Park Architects spent time gathering relevant views and aspirations from staff, volunteers, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure that the changes to the building’s interior are best for everyone.
We had an amazing ceilidh from Glasgow Life and Celtic Connections which was immensely popular. We also had a Burns Celebration lunch.

Storm Eowyn led us to provide a reduced service in the morning to ensure the team could get home before conditions worsened. Unfortunately, we did sustain some damage to the roof.
Key Highlights
Three-course lunches and hot breakfasts served daily in a welcoming space.
High attendance at activities including football, cultural trips, the choir, line dancing, and karaoke.
Intervention Worker support focused on benefits, fuel top-ups, and emotional support.
Clients enjoyed outings to the King’s Theatre and events across the city.
Activities & Engagement
Coming into the better weather, we’ve been making the most of outdoor opportunities. Football has continued to be a weekly favourite, with great attendance and a strong sense of camaraderie among players. Many are keen to enter competitions, and we’re proud to support both the fun and the teamwork that comes with this activity.
Our Wednesday cultural trips are more enjoyable when the weather’s on our side. In the coming weeks, we’re planning beach visits—simple but hugely popular. We’ll pack lunches, take chairs from the cinema room, and maybe grab chips and ice cream on the way home. These activities bring laughter, reduce isolation, and are important forms of harm reduction. Indoors, our regular sessions continue to bring joy and connection: bingo, quizzes, karaoke, line dancing and the LHM360 choir. The choir performed at Croftfoot Guild in March and regularly contributes to internal events.
Intervention Support
Our Intervention Worker has seen a rise in emotional support needs, particularly around the fear and uncertainty of changes to benefits. Despite this, practical help remains strong: fuel top-ups, form-filling, one-to-one conversations and supportive advocacy are all part of everyday life at LHM360.
This quarter also included two benefits training sessions at Parkhead, equipping staff with the knowledge to better support others. Angela also supported the coordination of an Ash Wednesday service which was well-attended and appreciated.
Community & Volunteer Support
We remain so grateful to our dedicated volunteers and supporters who bring their time, energy, and hearts into the building each week. From helping with food service to supporting our wider activities and events, they are an essential part of what makes LHM360 a safe and thriving space.
Looking Ahead
As spring settles in, we’re energised by the weeks ahead—ready to deepen relationships, expand activities, and continue responding to the needs of our clients with care, creativity and love. Thank you for standing with us as we walk alongside those who need it most.
