Day Centre

Day Centre

People use the Day Centre for a variety of different reasons.

For many, attending our Day Centre is the first step in reducing the feelings of isolation and loneliness which are often caused by living a chaotic life, homelessness as well as mental illness.

Whatever the reason, our Support Staff and Counsellors work hard to develop trusted relations to help identify the individual needs and wants of the men and women who come to us for help and advice.

The Lodging House Mission Day Centre is a safe and welcoming environment where service users can access:

  • Educational opportunities and recreational activities

  • Food

  • Help and support on practical issues including filling in benefit forms, housing applications as well as referrals to other agencies

  • Emergency clothing (for rough sleepers only) and laundry facilities

  • Showers and toiletries

  • Hairdressers

  • Free phone facilities, every Monday to Friday from 09.30 -11.30hrs, 1330 - 1500hrs

As well as access to our state- of- the art learning centre, specifically designed courses and workshops to promote, we actively encourage addiction recovery focussed groups and activities, which are popular and well attended.

NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meet here on Tuesdays from 1900 - 2030 hrs, Thursdays from 1800 - 1900 hrs, Fridays from 2130 - 0000 hrs and Sundays from 1830 - 2130 hrs.

“Attending the meetings has helped me stay clean. I’ve stopped cutting myself and managed to cut down on the methadone. It’s been a really positive experience and now it’s time to move on.”

Tom, 42, Service User

“The Lodging House Mission has given me a purpose instead of being on the street drinking.”

Margaret, 37, Service User
